PHARMA ANALYTICA 2K18- Recent Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences- National Seminar-January 2018
19 Jan 2018
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
This seminar is methodically structured and designed to address the curricular lag between the prescribed study material and the skill sets required by the pharmaceutical industry. Despite sound theoretical knowledge in the subject even good students have little opportunity for hands on  experiential learning. This conference will provide a platform for delineating  recent trends and research innovations including current professional practices. Practical hands-on training in various analytical instruments, including FT-IR and HPLC, will be an added opportunity for students who rarely have access to advanced instrumentation. Training in molecular docking will be  imparted by experts trained in the industry/institution. Interpretation of IR and other analytical techniques empower delegates to enhance their research  potential. Students will also be provided an overview of drug discovery and analytical method development strategies in the context ,depleting pharmaceutical innovation. Analytical method development, chiefly in  newer molecules and its validation would be a major session. An emerging trend in multi target drugs and Analytical Quality by Design Approach towards method development in the conference will be intellectually stimulating.
ABOUT KSCSTE
The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) is an
autonomous body under the ministry of S&T (Science and Technology), Kerala,
constituted in November 2002 to be an agency for change and development through
science and technology. The council promotes and activates programs for increasing the stock of knowledge in science, and fine tunes policies which are significant and for the sustained development of humanity. KSCSTE has a State Council headed by the Chief Minister of Kerala and an Executive council chaired by the Executive Vice President (EVP).
PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS
The Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis has emerged as one of the premier science departments of National College of Pharmacy. The Department is uniquely blessed with a rich legacy, highly dedicated and inspiring faculty, talented researchers and helpful supporting staff, all working as a team to build an inspiring atmosphere for teaching, learning and practicing of Analytical Chemistry. The Department is in possession of state-of-art instrumental facilities like UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, HPLC with PDA detector, FT-IR, Flame Photometer, Spectroflourimeter, Nephelo-Turbidimeter, Electrophoresis, Conductometer etc. The Department has published several research articles in International journals (Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, etc) and the total citations from the department are more than 100. This department is responsible for imparting knowledge in the field of modern instrumental techniques for B.Pharm, Pharm.D and all branches of M.Pharm.
PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY
The Department of pharmaceutical chemistry vision is to impart knowledge in Advanced Pharmaceutical Chemistry so that the student is competent to work in pharmaceutical companies and R&D organizations to develop cost effective yet safe and quality biomedicines and pharmaceuticals. A post graduate education in pharmaceutical chemistry focus on the interdisciplinary application of chemical, biochemical, and molecular principles to the identification and development of therapeutic agents. Research and post-graduate education in pharmaceutical chemistry emphasize drug
design and include the synthesis of organic medicinal products, elucidation of the biochemistry and molecular biology of medicinal agents, examination of the relationship of chemical structure to biological activity, qualitative and quantitative analysis of drugs, and application of computational chemistry to drug design.
